This fizzy smoothie for kids is so much fun. It is the perfect treat for kids for a New Year’s Eve party or for Valentine’s Day. I made these for my kids last New Years and they loved that they had a sparkling and fizzy drink. They were thrilled by this special treat.
This smoothie is also simple enough that you can have your kids help you with it. This smoothie is best if you blend it very well or either use a larger straw (like a larger milkshake straw) to drink it.
This is a sweet drink but the seltzer water will help to mellow it out. You can add extra seltzer water if you are concerned about it being too sweet.
This is also a great drink to make as a mocktail because it’s just so fun and tasty.
What ingredients do I need for this smoothie?
This fizzy smoothie for kids is a super simple recipe, all you need are three ingredients. Just three! For this sparkling smoothie, you will need:
- Sparkling seltzer water (unflavored)
- Frozen or fresh strawberries
- Mango sorbet
If you prefer to use fresh strawberries for this recipe you can but since I usually make this as a New Years treat I tend to use frozen strawberries. Either fresh or frozen are good to use in this recipe. I also recommend using unflavored seltzer water. The sorbet and strawberries provide enough sweetness that you shouldn’t need a flavored seltzer for this recipe.
Can you put sparkling water in a blender?
For this recipe, I don’t recommend putting the sparkling seltzer water in the blender. Add the sparkling water at the end. The strawberry and mango sorbet mixture should mix well the sparkling water after they have been blended.
How many servings is this recipe?
This recipe makes two small smoothies. You can easily double or triple the recipe if you want to make additional servings.
